The "Flat Turret" Lathe
Is the Lathe of Greatest Utility
Its wide range of usefulness is accounted for by the fact that
+ it is equipped with tools that make it capable of handling bar and chuck work of any style,
shape or size within its working dimensions.
It is thus ready at all times to handle an infinite variety of work without any extra tools or
devices of any kind.
It gives you absolute control of tools and work—insuring durability to the tools and fine finish
and accuracy to the work.
Its adaptability enables you to keep it in constant use so that it is always working for you.
Its use in the production of duplicate parts will save you at least 50 per cent., and in many
cases, 8o per cent., of the cost by any other method.
If you doubt it, ask us to prove it.

The "Flat Turret" Lathe
Is the Lathe of Greatest Profit
v
The simple reason for this is, that it is the fastest and most accurate producer of duplicate
parts, and consequently the greatest reducer of operating expenses.
It would not be so far superior to others, but for the fact that it alone is a "Flat Turret" lathe; it
alone has a cross-feed head; it alone has double stops for each position of the turret; it alone
is a single drive turret lathe; it is the only turret lathe in which all feeds and speeds are
instantly obtainable ; and it has many other patented features that no other lathe can ever
have.
We are willing to take your own work and prove, in your own shop, that it would be advisable
for you to install a "Flat Turret" even if you have to throw away other lathes to make room for
it.
Will you let us try this at our own expense 9

The Superiority Of The Geared Speed
and 'Feed Changes Of Prentice
Bros. Radial Drills.
The importance of the right speed and feed changing mechanism of Drills cannot be over
estimated. Our Drills have 16 changes of speed and 8 changes of feed. All are instantly obtainable,
while machines are running, and from the operator's regular position.
The Gear Speed Changing Device is simplicity itself.        It has but a few gears.        Con-
flicting ratios cannot be engaged nor the machine injured by carelessness. The Spindle can be
advanced or returned and the power feed engaged or disengaged, with one hand on one lever.
Our Roller Clutch makes it easy to cut fast, until the drill reaches its full diameter. When you let go
of the hand wheel the power feed takes hold. You save in this way 20 to 30 seconds on each hole
drilled.
We claim that our Radial Drilling Machines are the best ever built. Do you want us to prove it?

The "Flat-Turret-Lathe
Is the Lathe of Greatest Profit

The simple reason for this is, that it is the fastest and most accurate producer of duplicate parts,
and consequently the greatest reducer of operating expenses.
It would not be so far superior to others, but for the fact that it alone is a "Flat Turret" lathe; it
alone has a cross-feed head; it alone has double stops for each position of the turret; it alone is a
single drive turret lathe; it is the only turret lathe in which all feeds and speeds are instantly
obtainable ; and it has many other patented features that no other lathe can ever have.
We are willing to take your own work and prove, in your own shop, that it would be advisable for
you to install a "Flat Turret" even if you have to throw away other lathes to make room for it.
Will you let us try this at our own expense 9

The One-Belt Reversing-Countershaft
By using the Smith One-Belt Reversing Countershaft, instead of the old-fashioned double-
friction countershaft requiring two Belts, you save the cost of one pulley and one belt, and you
lessen your fuel bills—because of the reduced weight on the main shaft and the diminished
friction.
There are several other reasons why this countershaft is more economical and efficient than
the old style. Shall we send you the catalog that gives these reasons? We ship on trial.
